Skridtvis is two gifts put together: an app two people wrote and gave away, and thousands of hours of modelling that a community shares under open licences.

Built on Bygga

Everything you see and hear here, the drawing style, the step player, the voice, the way a guide moves, is Bygga, the open-source IKEA assembly app by Hassan and Youssef. Skridtvis is a fork of its code under the MIT licence, with the furniture swapped for LEGO sets. The MIT notice travels with our source.

The models

Every set is a model from the LDraw Official Model Repository, built piece by piece by a fan, with the steps they chose. We only draw models whose every file is shared under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (CC BY 2.0 or CC BY 4.0), and each guide names its modeller on its cover. The pieces themselves come from the LDraw parts library, under the same terms. Minifigures and their accessories are left out of every guide.
